NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE... BRING THE HISTORY HOME
Reflections of Canada, an extraordinary symphony of Canadian heritage, tells the story of our country in lights, music, and the voices of Canadians from across the country.

These voices remind us of the kind of people who built this country, and the kind of people who, working together, are going to build an even better future.

The stage for this grand symphony is Parliament Hill, the seat of Canada's government and the symbolic heart of the nation. In front of you is the Centre Block with its distinctive Peace Tower. The bells chime the hour and the carillon is played each day.

Imagine yourself on Parliament Hill in Canada's capital, Ottawa. It's summer. The air is dark and soft, the sky bright with stars. And there is music - the cold clear music of the wilderness, brightly evocative of Canada's beginnings. This is Reflections of Canada, a sound and light show that translates the story of our country into lights, voices and music. It took more than 300 people over 2 years to develop this project.
Every evening at 9:00 pm it's showtime. Two shows a night, one in English and one in French - for a total of 180 shows, entertain anywhere from 120,000 to 150,000 people during the season. Half of the audience comes from outside the Capital region, and more than one third from abroad (15% from the United States).
The original, full-length production of Reflections of Canada, A Symphony of Sound and Light is now available on CD. This magnificent 43 minute digital recording features the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, the Elektra Women's Chorus, the Vancouver Men's Chorus, the Vancouver Children's Choir, soloists JoŽlle Rabu and Fraser Walters, variety in instrumentation from erhu to throat-singing, and more than 20 Canadian actors.
